The Sunken Living Room Is Making A Come Back
The “conversation pits” from the 70’s are on the rise! (excuse our pun)
Remember when you were younger and you’d put on your brand new flare jeans and feel like you invented style, only to have your mom point out that she “used to have a pair exactly like that”? Then she would point out a myriad of trendy things that originated from her hay-day and you’d roll your eyes and she told you that style is cyclical, and eventually it all comes back around and that “maybe one day your daughter will be rolling her eyes at you for saying the same thing and then you’ll understand. Well, as per usual, mom was right. Trends are cyclical and it’s better when you don’t fight it.
If you’re anything like me, you couldn’t peel your eyes away from Selling Sunset. The drama, the houses, the bad acting as the girls tried to generate even more drama, it all made for pretty enticing tv. There was an episode on Selling Sunset where they proudly boasted that the house has a sunken living room from the original construction (photo below). On the show they couldn’t share whose house it was they were selling, but I later found out it was Orlando Bloom! And if Orlando Bloom thinks it’s cool to have a’s cool to have a sunken living room, then by golly, so do we!
